As all of you are aware, the exam was updated on May 1st of 2021. This update included a small reallocation of the domain weight for Domains 4 and 8, and the introduction of several new topics into the Common Body of Knowledge (CBK). Now that the changes are actually upon us, what’s happening? Is our site being updated?
Updates are being made as we speak, so you may encounter some weird errors as you navigate our site. Please be patient with us as our update process is manual and will take some time. That being said, here is our current plan:
Step 1: Update the current Domain 4 and Domain 8 allocations. – COMPLETED
Basically this means we’ll be updating the points you get for each correct question in Domain 4 and Domain 8. Currently our quizzes are weighted by assigning points to each question based on the domain it came from. This is the only way we can weight a multi-domain exam. Again, this might take a long time because of the way our quiz engine was built – it’s far from perfect and hasn’t had any updates in years. We know. This is not ideal… We are looking into other possible plugins, but that’s an update for another time… For now we’re stuck with it.
Step 2: Compare and contrast. – CONTINUOUS
We have access to the self-paced CBK training and are currently in the process of comparing our content to the new content and making any and all possible updates. This step will take the longest since we want to be thorough; it will also be continuous as we constantly review and updated our questions. Please be patient with us as we update and create new questions. Once all our questions are fully updated, we will post an update on our blog (this spot, on the right side of the website). This step includes three additional sub-steps below:
Step 3: Remove outdated questions. – COMPLETED
Step 4: Create new questions. – COMPLETED
Step 5: Update our Super Study Guide(sm) – TBD
Once again, it will take a long time for us to update, so we can’t make any promises on the timeline. We know that some of you are approaching a deadline for the exam, and that you’ve exercised faith in our site by purchasing access. Rest assured that we are working as fast as possible, and that our question style is still valid – as is roughly 80% of our content. We hope this helps to clarify what’s happening right now, and apologize for any inconvenience. For those of you on a time crunch, please, PLEASE consider re-scheduling your exam and paying the $50 fee.
Thank you for your support and understanding. Best of luck to you all.
